Friday 9th March 2012: Newhall Park Primary School
Today our focus was on installing the growing beds for the pupils. This involved moving the existing beds, and soil, from the old garden and building new beds. The capacity for gardening is now more than doubled.
Almost all of the trees have been planted now; today the selection included wild pear, rowan, aspen, bird cherry and field maple. BEES volunteers dug the holes in preparation for the pupils to plant some of the trees. These were year 4 pupils so they will be at school for a couple more years to watch the trees grow.
Today we worked with 14 Volunteers
